A few design related questions…
How did you find your way to interior design?
In school, I hopped around design fields, starting in graphic and industrial design. Neither of them felt quite right. My dad built and designed the house I grew up in so when I landed on interior design/ architecture I knew it was what I wanted to do. I was able to envision space the way he did.
What’s your favourite part of the design process and why?
I love the construction/implementation phases. There is nothing better than seeing the design that has been developed over months or even years come to life.
What’s your favourite room to design?
The kitchen, the heart of the home. I love being able to make such a functional space also aesthetically pleasing.
How would you describe your personal style in 3 words?
Streamlined - Intentional / no fuss - Minimal
Getting a little personal…
Describe your perfect day.
Being with my family, I love big family dinners when everyone is around enjoying a meal.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
Paris - I love it for both its architecture and history. It has a particular charm.
What’s your biggest fear?
Spiders, they are so leggy and too quick!
What’s your favourite meal?
Pasta with a cream or butter sauce. There are just so many different kinds, you can never go wrong.
Are you an early bird or night owl?
Early bird for sure - just need a cup of coffee and I’m good to go!

A few design related questions…
How did you find your way to interior design?
I was lucky enough to have an Interior Design course at my high school, so I fell in love with design at the ripe age of 16 and never looked back! I went on to get a Bachelor of Interior Design at Toronto Metropolitan University (fka Ryerson) and jumped into the workforce in 2009.
What’s your favourite part of the design process and why?
The part I find the most stimulating is space planning. It’s like solving a puzzle, but there’s multiple right ways to get to the answer. It’s when my creative juices really can run wild! But I can’t leave out seeing everything come together in the final month of construction, its like Christmas morning!
What’s your favourite room to design?
Bathrooms are a treat to design because every corner is thoroughly considered. I love working through the combinations of finishes and how they interact with one another.
How would you describe your personal design style in 3 words?
Warm - Thoughtful - Lived in
Getting a little personal…
Describe your perfect day.
A slow morning with yoga, going thrifting alone (I can spend hours in one shop) with good tunes in my ears, then dinner out with friends – maybe ending with a game of pool at a divey bar!
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
My lodge in Beaver Valley, it’s a little slice of heaven. Outside of that though I love Medellin, Colombia – its a spectacular city! Imagine a huge metropolis intertwined with a lush jungle.
What’s your biggest fear?
BEE’S.
What’s your favourite meal?
A good steak dinner!
Are you an early bird or night owl?
I’ve learned to really love the mornings, getting up early and being able to ease into the day makes all the difference.
